By addressing the gaps in the circular ocean plastic supply chain, blue economy industries can be incubated and existing ones augmented to create multi-level climate action. These changes not only address the immediate environmental problem of plastic pollution and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions but also generate new economic drivers. These drivers can and will improve socio-economic and environmental disparities through blue industry development, job creation, education, STEM-related vocations, and the remediation of regional environmental and health impacts. In this chapter, we identify the most pressing problems to expanding ocean plastic circular supply chains and offer solutions . First, we will address the global issue of plastic waste. Next, we will look at the role of ocean plastic in climate change. Then, we will present scientifically based and economically viable solutions to ocean plastic by examining the world of plastic circularity, plastic credits, and outline outlining the linkages in the ocean plastic supply chain.
